This study examined the effect of using comic strips on comprehension of descriptive text. It employed a quasi-experimental design. A sample of seventh grade students of State Junior High School 3 of Pagedongan were randomly selected and divided into two groups: an experimental group (23 students) and a control group (23 students) in the academic year 2013/2014. Comic strips were used in the experimental group whereas the students in the control group were taught without the use of comic strips. The pre-test and post-test scores were statistically analyzed using Mann-Whitney. Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) stated 0.001. It was less than sig. 0.05. The result showed that comic strips gave effect to the students’ comprehension on descriptive text.
