Author Guidelines


The paper sent to our redaction will be considered for publication if meeting the following criteria:

  1. The provision of manuscript writing in the Journal of Biology Education (Jobe) IAIN  Kudus refers to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA Style)
  2. The manuscript can be written in Indonesian or English using correct grammar rules. Writing manuscripts in English is generally in the form of past tense.
  3. Quotations using in-text citations composed of three elements include author's name, year of publication, and page. Reference sources that have members of two to five authors listed in all  author's last names.
  4. The format of the article is made in MS Word, font of Time New Roman, size of 12 pt, space in 1,5  and using single column with number of 10-17 pages.


The manuscript should contain the following section in this order:

a. Title
Title of articles in English should describe the main content of manuscripts, be informative, concise, and not too wordy (maximum of 18 words)

b. The author’s name
Author’s name is in full name without academic degrees and titles and written in capital letters.

c.  Name of affiliation for each author
The authors  name should be accompanied by complete affiliation address, telephone number and email address.
d.  Abstract
Abstract is Written briefly in English in one paragraph of 100-200 words containing background, research objectives, methodology, result, discussion of the study and research contributions to science. Abstracts are written in 2 (two) languages of Indonesian and English. If the manuscript uses the Indonesian language, the writing of English on the abstract is written in italic. Typing abstract is done using Times New Roman font, size of 12 pt, and single spaced with right margin and left text main.

e.  Keywords

Keywords are written in 3-5 words or groups of words, and written alphabetically.

f. Introduction 

Introduction  is explaining the background, problems, importance of research, brief literature review  relates directly to research or previous findings that need to be developed, and ended with a paragraph of research purposes.

g. Research Methods

The research method consists of the type of research, research procedures and data analysis used to describe the problem solving research and or test the hypothesis.

h. Results and Discussion

The results and discussions contain clear, concise research results that can be arranged in the form of graphs, drawings and tables. The discussion in the article aims to answer research questions, answer hypothesis formulation, show the findings of research, interpret the research results, analyze the research result by learning theory and or discover new theories. Well organized tables and or images should be an important feature of this section, as they offer a master print for readers. Any information provided in tables and images can no longer be repeated in the text, but the text should focus on the main issues. It is suitable for discussion of how keywords can be used for other related problems.

i. Conclusion

Conclusion should be withdrawn on the basis of research findings, formulated concerns and research purposes. Conclusion is presented in one paragraph without numerical form of expression. It explains the research contributions to science.

j. References

References contain referral lists according to the citation contained in the publication text. References are written with a single space by following a predefined format like the following examples.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
