Author Guidelines

The manuscript sent to our journal will be considered for publication if meeting the following requirement:

  1. Authors should submit only papers that have been carefully proofread and polished within the academic English language.

  2. It is scientific and focused on the reviews of related problems in English teaching and learning issues. Besides, it must be original and based on the research and contributive literature review for the development of English teaching and learning.

  3. Articles should be original, research-based, unpublished, and not under review for possible publication in other journals.

  4. It consists of title, author’s name, institution, email address, abstract, keywords, content, and references. The author does not need to include an academic title

  5. The title must be clear and precise related to the journal's focus and scope.

  6. The article should be between 15-20 pages (not more than 7000 words), single-spaced, 11-point Roboto font, excluding references and appendices. Use no indent for the first paragraphs and do not leave a space between paragraphs. It should be written in A4 paper (see JETLI Manuscript Template)

  7. The abstract should be written in one paragraph and should be about 150-250 words. Using Roboto font, font size 10, single spacing. The abstract should contain general statement about the importance of the topic, gap in literature or discrepancies between theories and practices, purpose of study, method, main findings, implication, and conclusion. Write 3-5 keywords afterward. 

  8. The paper will be reviewed and edited without changing any substantial contents.

  9. Use management reference software like Zotero, Mendeley, or Endnote. Use APA 7th edition for in-text citations. Please refer here: APA 7th in-text citation checklist.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. URLs or DOI for the references list should have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 11-point Roboto font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) License, which permits to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
