Melati Ismaila

Abstract

This paper discusses about the application of the hadith of recommended smiles traditions in social media as a form of non-verbal communication. The process of transmission and acceptance of smiling recommendations is expressed through emoticons which are also in social media, one of which is Whatsapp. This is included in the study of living hadith. The theory used is Charles Sanders Pierce's theory of communication semiotics known as meaning triangles or semiotic triangles. With this study, it is expected to be able to know the contextualization of hadith in communication using social media which is now developing in the community.
